The original contractor had installed an external perimeter dewatering system, complemented by localized internal wells. However, the system struggled to control groundwater effectively as excavation deepened, putting timelines and structural stability at risk.
WJ Canada was engaged to design and install a targeted solution that could achieve the required drawdown quickly and reliably, ensuring construction could continue with confidence.
Our specialists deployed WJ’s unique wellpoint dewatering system, supported by our specialised drilling methods. This included installing wellpoints directly through caisson piles; a challenging task requiring precision equipment and expert handling.
Thanks to our compact drilling rigs, we were able to access tight, restricted spaces that would have been impossible with conventional equipment. This adaptability proved critical to addressing the site’s unique challenges without disrupting ongoing works.
