NATM Tunnelling & Mining

WJ Canada has expertise in supporting projects utilising the New Austrian Tunnelling Method (NATM) for tunnelling and mining. NATM, also known as SEM (Sequential Excavation Method) as well as SCL (Sprayed Concrete Lining), uses the inherent strength of the surrounding rock to support and stabilize tunnels, rather than using more costly reinforcement methods.
By undertaking a number of projects across the globe as the NATM method developed, WJ has been at the forefront of developing equipment for use underground as part of NATM projects. Our proprietary methods and equipment allow us to dewater NATM Tunnels from inside the tunnel, even in conditions where there is hydro static pressure.
