Meet our new rig
Probably the most technically advanced mid-sized water well drilling rig operating in the UK today, our new Conrad Combi 500 is a state of the art
machine. It’s powerful and effi cient modern engine is compliant with the highest emissions standards, making it one of the cleanest rigs in the business.
It’s smart, too. Intelligent power management automatically reduces engine rpm to stationary when no function is operated for 5 seconds. Equipped with remote controlled hydraulic functions, designed to eliminate manual handling, also provides a safe working environment.
The reduced noise and exhaust emissions, coupled with the ability to operate in an incredibly small footprint, make WJ and our Conrad rig the ideal solution for installing wells up to 500mm diameter and up to 200m depth in restricted urban sites.

Our Scottish office
WJ has been delivering Groundwater Management and Control services to Scotland for many years, and Blantyre is the site of our newest office.
As a hub for our Scottish operations, this office demonstrates our commitment to continuing our work in the region, and will help ensure our high levels of service are consistently maintained.
Projects in Scotland
We have successfully delivered a number of key projects within the region
M74 Raith Interchange
WJ Groundwater has commenced dewatering works on a new underpass that will run beneath the M74 Raith Interchange near Glasgow.
Scottish Power HQ
In 2012, energy firm Scottish Power announced plans to build a new 14-storey headquarters in Glasgow city centre housing around 1,500 staff.
Govan Tunnel
A section of tunnel just outside Govan Station on the Glasgow subway system was in a poor state, having been subject to water and sand ingress for many years.

Michael Cummiskey Contracts Engineer
Based at our Blantyre office, Contracts Engineer Michael Cummiskey is responsible for the delivery of projects in Scotland. Michael has been with WJ since 2013 and has gained valuable experience on projects in Edinburgh & Glasgow.
Richard Fielden Managing Director
With over 30 years experience in ground engineering and dewatering, responsible for directing strategy for continued profitable growth and maintaining the operational performance of the company.
